  1. PEAK OF CHEMBRA

Please keep in mind that overnight camping is not permitted at the Chembra top due to the risk of encountering wild animals. It will take you approximately three hours to reach the summit top. You will also be able to see the Hridaya Thadakam Lake along the way. Despite the fact that the lake has dried up greatly, its heart-shaped shape continues to attract a large number of visitors. 

When you reach the peak, you will be greeted with panoramic views over Wayanad’s whole town. You can visit the top at any time of year, however the rainy season is best avoided because the area becomes incredibly slick.

  1. TREK TO DUDHSAGAR

Amongst the most famous treks in the Western Ghats is the Dudhsagar trek. The famed Dudhsagar waterfalls attract a large number of tourists from Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore every weekend. Many holiday visitors to Goa make a point of visiting the Dudhsagar waterfalls. There are numerous routes and ways to get to the waterfalls. 

The Dudhsagar cascades are a four-tiered cascade that cascades down from the peaks of Karnataka’s mountains and into Goa, an ancient Portuguese province. The Bhagwan Mahavir Nature Reserve is further enriched by the waters of these falls. Because it spans both Karnataka and Goa, the Dudhsagar waterfalls are considered India’s highest. The walk begins at Kulem’s railway tracks. 

You’ll have to cross the Braganza ghat later on in the walk, which will lead you via a series of tunnels. The hike covers a total distance of Eleven kilometers. If you start your journey in the state of Karnataka, though, you will have to cross the railway tracks at Castle Rock. The journey from there to the Dudhsagar cascades is around 14 kilometers.

  1. FORT RATANGAD TREK

The Ratangad fort, situated in the Kalsubai hill, is flanked by some of the most beautiful Sahyadris peaks and the Bhandardara dam. There is also a natural rock cavity known as the ‘Eye of the Needle’ or ‘Nedhe.’ Many forts, including the well-known Ratangad fort, may be seen from the breathtaking views. The journey takes place at a height of 4,255 feet. 

The journey takes a total of five hours to complete. The hike begins at Ratanwadi village and leads to the Amruteshwar temple, which is over a thousand years old. The temple has some of the most elaborately gorgeous carvings, making it even more beautiful to see. It also has a lot of sculptures. One of the most beautiful aspects of the temple is that the Pravara river flows through it, making it even more beautiful to see. 

White arrows on stones have been placed throughout the entire way to the Ratangad Fort. As a result, you don’t have to be concerned about losing your path. However, if you are concerned about losing your way up to the fort, you can hire a guide from the settlement.

  1. Kumara Parvatha Trek

Kumara Parvatha Trek is a popular hiking excursion in the Western Ghats. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness can complete this hike, which is easy to moderately difficult.

Kumara Parvatha Trek, also known as Pushpagiri Trek, covers roughly 25-28 kilometers from the base and is normally completed in two days.   1. MEESAPULIMALA

The peak of Meesapulimala is the second highest peak in the Western Ghats. The Meesapulimala Peak trip is one of the more straightforward treks. This walk is reported to be suitable for persons of all ages. The area is densely forested and lushly green. 

Various Rhododendrons, tea gardens, and other sights will be seen along the way. The Meesapulimala trip will take you through eight hills at an elevation of 8,661 feet. You would have to pass via the shared borders of Tamil Nadu and Kerala on this journey. 

The Meesapulimala is an 8-kilometer long river. It passes through a variety of grasslands, fauna, and other areas.’ ‘Meesa’ signifies mustache, ‘puli’ indicates tiger, and’mala’ means hill in Meesapulimala. The peak’s name comes from its similarity to a tiger’s face, however you won’t be able to see any tigers at Meesapulimala.
