In the first half of the current fiscal year, IT exports grew 36 percent to $1.3 billion, and jumped 29 percent to $251 million in December. The data show that this was largely due to a large investment flow into Pakistan’s technology sector.
Technology exports in the second quarter were $667 million. Pakistan’s total IT exports stand at $1.44 billion in FY 2020, increasing to $2.1 billion in FY 2021.
This growth will gain further momentum,” said Khurram Shehzad, managing director of Alpha Beta Core.
Increased investment in the startup ecosystem will help develop Pakistan’s technology infrastructure, which in turn will lead to an increase in IT exports,” Shehzad said.
